Over the last several years, we have done something remarkable together.
We have strengthened our financial foundation, invested in a building that is more accessible and welcoming, and prepared our church for a new season of ministry. Through extraordinary generosity, we have surpassed our congregational building campaign goal, with pledges still coming in.
Now we're ready to ask a new question: What is all this strength for?
Because the building was never the bright hope. What happens because of it is.
As we look toward 2027, we are imagining a church that deepens relationships within our congregation, connects more intentionally with our neighbors, invests more deeply in mission and outreach, and makes room for new ideas and possiblities.
All of it serves the mission we share - to Love God More and Love More People.
And all of it becomes possible when we bring our gifts together.
Our newly renovated building gives us greater capacity for ministry. Now we're turning our attention toward how we will use it - and how we will carry our mission beyond its walls.
In 2027, we're looking forward to:
Jesus begins his ministry by naming what he has come to do: bring good news, freedom, healing, and hope.
As we look toward UMCE's future, we begin with the same question: What are we here for?
Everything we've built and everything we give exists to serve a larger purpose - to help us live out our mission to Love God More and Love More People, and to participate in what God is doing in the world.
Paul celebrates the Philippians for becoming partners in his ministry through their financial generosity. Their gifts made it possible for the work to continue.
We've seen that same truth in our own congregation. When people bring what they have together, generosity becomes possibility.
Financial stewardship is one of the ways we put resources behind a mission we are passionate about and help make its future possible.
Luke tells us about women who supported Jesus' ministry from their own financial resources. From the very beginning, people have helped make God's work possible through their generosity.
On All Saints Day, we remember those whose faithfulness and generosity helped make our ministry possible.
We live inside things other people hoped for. And now we get to be those people for someone else.
Financial generosity is a personal and intentional decision.
As you consider your giving for 2027, we invite you to think about the mission of UMCE, the ministry you want to help make possible, and the resources you have to share.
We've created a simple calculator to help you explore your current giving and what several possible increases might look like in the coming year. The calculator is completely private. Nothing you enter is saved or submitted to UMCE.
Your Estimate of Giving helps UMCE plan faithfully for the year ahead. It allows our church leadership to make responsible decisions about the resources available for worship, congregational care, children and youth, mission and outreach, and the new opportunities we hope to pursue.
We invite you to prayerfully consider your financial giving to UMCE for 2027 and share your estimate with us.
An Estimate of Giving is not a binding contract. We understand that circumstances change. It is simply your best estimate of what you hope to give in the coming year.
