DESCRIPTION:Since early 2022 UMCE has collected free-will offerings through
 out each calendar year for our Towards Healing: Royalties for Spirituals p
 roject. On Sunday\, June 28\, we will take our second "Spirituals Sunday" 
 free-will donations for 2026. \nUMCE's Royalties for Spirituals program i
 s our way of taking a small step towards healing injustices that have face
 d the Black community for centuries\, including the lack of compensation t
 o the original enslaved composers of spirituals and the lack of royalties 
 to their descendants. As we have done since the program's inception\, we w
 ill pay forward our offerings towards scholarships to help young Black stu
 dents of music who participate in Vocal Coalition Youth Choirs (VOCO). \n
 If you are unable to donate in person after the service on Sunday\, please
  know we accept online donations at any time earmarked for the Royalties/S
 pirituals program. Thank you to all who have already given and/or will be 
 giving to this initiative!
